Train Noise Expert allows importing model objects from other projects. The import procedure is outlined here:
To import model objects into the current project, select “File > Import to library”, or alternatively, click on the “Import…” button on the ibrary table. This will cause the following import dialog to be shown:
If a valid path to a ‘global library’ has been set (see Edit > Preferences), the user may select to use the global library as the basis for the model items to import. Alternatively, the path to a different project may be specified using the ‘From file’ option.
With a valid library selected, the user may then select an item from the model to import into the current project.
When importing container items such as situations, trains, vehicles etc, then all of the contained items will also be imported - for example, selecting a train to import will import all vehicles and sources contained within it.
If items already exist in the current project with the same name as any of the imported objects, the names of imported objects will be incremented with ‘_1’, ‘_2’… etc.
Each use of the import feature will generate new model items and will not reference any pre-existing model items. Repeatedly using the import facility for container items may result in duplicate model items being present in the project, and it is therefore advised that users review and reassign library items as necessary after using the import feature.
